A humpback whale has been found dead off the Illawarra coast, entangled in a New South Wales government shark net. The New South Wales Government returned shark nets to 51 locations along NSW beaches this September, when the humpback migration was still well underway. Spanning just 150 metres and set 500 metres offshore, sharks can swim over under and around the nets.
